Don’t Let the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Control the Policy Debate! | March 22 Reception
March 22, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We’re proud to co-host this reception on March 22nd.
Join fellow DC area business leaders at the Impact HUB DC, 419 7th Street NW, 3rd Floor, Washington, DC 20004, on March 22nd from 6 – 8 PM for networking and a discussion about the positive role business can play in supporting public policies that build a more just and sustainable economy.
We’ll be joined by Alyssa Katz whose new book ‘The Influence Machine’ traces the U.S. Chamber’s pervasive impact on U.S. politics and policy. It’s challenging enough to build a sustainable business under the best conditions. It’s even more difficult when groups like the U.S. Chamber promote low road, anti-environmental policies and pay-to-play politics. Learn how the American Sustainable Business Council, in contrast, works to increase the ability of responsible businesses to influence the political dialogue.
Where: Impact HUB DC, 419 7th Street NW, 3rd Floor Washington, DC 20004
When: March 22nd, 6 – 8 PM
Cost: Free
Moderated by Andy Shallal, CEO Busboys and Poets, other speakers will include Alyssa Katz, author of The Influence Machine: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Corporate Capture of American Life (published by Spiegel & Grau) and Richard Eidlin, Vice President & Co-founder of the American Sustainable Business Council.
